“And then he came forward, with an axe in his hand and blood dripping from his mouth” said Amelia. “Then what?” said Natalia gasping her breath. “He was huge, ugly and hungry for more. His pace was quick and bendy. His one leg moved faster than the other. He was so hungry he would eat anything that crawled or moved. He swiftly moved towards us. ” she continued. “Aaaaahhhhhhhhhh” we all screamed and ran in different directions. “Suddenly I felt something grip me, it was his slimy hand pulling me towards him, his grip was strong and his smell was yucky like rotten food. He opened his mouth to bite me and with speedy hands I picked up a stick and shoved it in his mouth” she continued. “Gggrrrrhhh” he groaned in pain and his grip loosened up a bit, I quickly ran as far away as I could. After a while I stopped running and realized I was all alone in the jungle. I was separated from my group and during the night there was complete silence, no birds chirping, just creepy voices and big glowing eyes coming towards me. I saw a tree with a big cavity and decided to hide under it till the morning. Suddenly the cavity opened up and I rolled inside. “What is this place? Where am I? Hello!” I said “Hi, promise you won’t hurt us?” said a voice from a corner “No, I will not hurt you, please come out” I said “Okay” she said and out came a tiny little woman. Behind her came another little man and three little ones. “Hello, my name is Amelia” she said extending her hand towards the little lady.
“I’m Marie and this is my husband Gregory and these are our children, we live here in this tree” she said “But how; how can you live in a tree?” I asked “Sweetie, we are gummy bears, we will in trees. We are the last of our species so we have to be extra careful not to be spotted and live in hiding” she explained “Well okay, if you say so” I said. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing; gummy bears didn’t exist in reality. I had heard fairytales about them and I thought that was it. “You must be starving, come let me getting you something nice and hot to eat. You can rest here” said mother Marie taking to the couch. The hot soup had big pieces of vegetables and a really garlicky broth, tasted excellent, especially when you are alone and scared in the dark, good food always cheers me up. After having the soup I lied down and dozed off for a while. When I woke up it was morning and time for me to leave. I looked for mother Marie and told her that I wanted to leave. “Wait, I will drop you to your camp, you will get lost again in the woods” she said. “Ok” I said as she finished her work. “Let’s go sweety” she said after 10 minutes We started to go and as she left me near my camp site I hugged her tightly and thanked her for helping me in my time of need. She told me not to tell anybody about them because firstly nobody would believe me and secondly if someone bad found out they would be in great deal of trouble. “Hey look who came back” said one of my friends as I entered. “Oh thank God you are safe; I was going crazy looking for you. You shouldn’t run off like that, young lady” said my camp instructor. “Huh?” I was confused “There was a monster here yesterday; all of us were running here and there. Don’t you guys remember?” I asked “Hahahahahaha” everyone started laughing “There are no monsters here, honey” said my camp instructor “No, there was a big bad scary thing here chasing all of us” I pleaded “You must have had a nightmare, nothing like this happened” she said “Then I didn’t really meet the gummy bears?” I asked “Who?” she asked “Gummy bears, mother Marie and father Gregory and their children” I clarified “There is no such thing as gummy bears, they exist in fairy tales they are not real” she said Everyone started laughing. They thought I had gone crazy and making up stories but in reality it really did happen, there was a monster and I did meet the gummy bears, at least I thought I did. “So, is it true?” asked Natalia “What?” “Gummy bears are they real?” she asked “Yes they are. They did help me and I did sleep in their house. If nobody believes me that’s ok because I know in my heart that I’m true and I did meet them” I said “Wow, we wish we were with you that night. Sounds so much fun” said Natalia and everyone had a good laugh. The End
