“I know in my heart that she is special. When I saw her for the first time, she took my breath away.” He explained “So, what are you planning now?” asked Natalie “I want to take her out for dinner. But I don’t know how to ask her out?” he said “I have an idea. Can you sing?” “Yes, I think so” he said “Great, so come by our house at 7pm. This is our address” Natalie said handing him a small piece of paper. “Awesome” he said “What’s that noise?” asked Massie as the two of them were sitting at home and watching TV. “Let’s go and look” said Natalie. As they looked out their window, there was a boom box on the floor. Suddenly the door bell rang. Natalie signalled Massie to go and open the door. “Hi” said Nathan as Massie opened the door “Hi, what are you doing here?” asked Massie “These are for you” he said “Thanks” “Can we talk somewhere?” he asked “Yes sure, come in” “I can’t sing. I tried singing but it was a disaster. I can only sing in my bathroom” he said laughing “Oh, that was you!” she said “Yes, an unsuccessful attempt. I know I can’t sing, but I assure you that I’m a good guy and I’m not a lunatic and will not hurt you ever. Will you please go out for dinner with me?” he asked with big hopeful eyes “Umm, yes” she said confused about what just happened. “Great. I will call you soon and fix up dinner date” he said and left happily “Natalie. What did you do?” asked Massie “Nothing. It was all him.” She said “You are involved in this. Tell me how?” she asked “Ok, I ran into him at the bookstore and asked him if he was interested and just gave him our address. Rest was all him. I’m not involved” she explained. Massie gave a huge smile and went to went. The whole night she couldn’t sleep, just kept thinking about him and grinning. The next morning there was another bouquet, a huge one, with chocolates and another package on the table. Massie quickly went over and read the card. It said – “Will come to pick you up @ 8pm. Wear this”. She opened the package and it had a beautiful peach dress with white stones on it. “Oh my God” she exclaimed “Good morning? What’s all this?” asked Natalie “He sent it for me” said Massie “Wow! I think he is the one for you” said Natalie “Don’t get your hopes up sweety, you never know” “No, you never know what might happen” said Natalie happily At 8 ‘o clock Massie was all ready to go, she was pacing up and down waiting for Nathan. As soon as her phone rang, she jumped and picked it up. She quickly told Natalie she was leaving. When she came back it was already 2 in the morning. Natalie just looked at her and knew that that was it. She was in love. Breakfasts, dinners, coffee, dancing went on for quite some time. Then one day, Nathan asked Natalie for help. “What about” she asked “I will tell you when I come over. Make sure you send Massie to work. I don’t want her to see me there” he said Natalie got really worried that he didn’t want to see Massie and meet her instead. She did as he had said and waited anxiously for him in her apartment. “Hey” he said “Hey, please come in” said Natalie inviting Nathan in. “Ok, I want to propose to her and not anywhere else but here. I want it to be a surprise for her that’s why I need your help” he said “What do you have in mind?” she said calming down “As soon as she enters the apartment I want her to be surprised, I want to decorate this place with flowers and balloons and I want slow music” he said “Splendid. When do we start?” she asked “As soon as possible; Oh and make sure she doesn’t come home before we are ready. We are doing this tonight” he said They got started with the decorations and Natalie told Massie that she wasn’t feeling well and she should cover her shift. That way she would not be home till the evening. It was about 7 o’ clock when Massie entered her house. She heard music, she turned the lights on and there he was in the middle of the room standing with a small box in his hands and a big smile on his face. “What are you doing here? And what’s all this?” she asked looking at the decorations. The room was filled with balloons and every corner of the house was filled with rose petals. It was a sight to be seen. “I promise you that I won’t hurt you and leave you in the middle of the road. I will love you and cherish you forever long. Since the time we have met I’ve been the happiest. I sing and dance and think about you even when you are not there. I’m a better person because of you. Will you marry me?” he said sitting down on one knee with a ring in his hand “Yes, yes and yes” said Massie with tears in her eyes. Nathan quickly made her wear the ring and kissed her passionately. “Can I come out now?” asked Natalie from inside her room “You were here and listening to us?” asked Massie “Yes, I had to be” she said hugging both of them.
Massie was finally happy. She got her prince charming. He was everything she ever dreamed of. Her heart skipped a beat whenever she saw and him, she loved him dearly and one day she would ride on a white horse with her prince of dreams. The End
