Victoria nodded. They sat right to him when they entered the room and were silent for a while.
“Hi Mr. Banks, I’m Victoria. I’m the one with whom your car collided” she said after a few minutes.
“I have to tell you something about that night. I think you were a little drunk and don’t remember what happened. I was on the right side of the road. Your car came and collided with mine. I tried to dodge you but there was no way out. I’m sorry it happened, please don’t hurt me anymore, I wasn’t at fault. I hope you’re listening and can make sense of what I just said” she continued.
“Come on sweety, let’s just hope it worked” said Samantha and both of them went home.
For a few hours Mr. Banks did not come to her and Victoria thought that their plan had worked but as she went to bed he came again and said, “You are wrong, you were at fault. I was just driving home to my family and you destroyed me” and this time he was much more fierce and angry and wanted to strangle her. Victoria got suddenly sweating and screamed, “Noooo”
Samantha came running into the room and asked, “What happened, why were you screaming?”
“He was here”
“Who was?”
“Mr. Banks”
“Oh no”
“Yes, and this time he actually wanted to kill me” said Victoria scared
“Really, but I don’t understand why?” said Samantha
“He thinks I put him there, he doesn’t remember anything before that” explained Victoria
“Oh God, what will we do now?” said Samantha “For now, I will sleep in your room and we will come up with a solution tomorrow. Come let’s go to bed now” she continued In the morning, Samantha suggested they go to a hypnotist. And without much thought Victoria agreed. “Not to be rude Sammy but how is he going to help us?” asked Victoria as they reached the doctor’s office. “You will see, trust me please” said Samantha They met the hypnotist and he agreed to meet Mr. Banks at the hospital. Samantha had a plan in mind which Victoria didn’t agree with but still Samantha was going ahead with it. The next day at the hospital, the hypnotist started with the therapy. He slowly advised Mr. Banks to clear his head and think of his happy place. “Do you really think it’s going to work Sammy” asked Victoria “I have read about such stuff and why not try it when we have nothing else in hand” said Samantha “Yeah, you’re right” she said “Now go deeper, just keep breathing and relax your body. Release any tension from every part of your body” he continued “What do you see? Where are you?” he asked “Do you really think he can talk?” asked Victoria “Sshhh” said Samantha “I’m with my family in our house having dinner” he said suddenly “How’s the mood?” asked the hypnotist “All of us are happy, cracking jokes and having a gala of a time” he said “Oh my God, he can talk!” exclaimed Victoria “He’s not really there, he’s in a trance state” said Samantha “What do you do next?” he asked Mr. Banks “After the dinner we all go to bed and the next day I have to get up early as I have to go out of town for a business meeting” he said “As the meeting finished I went out for dinner with some colleagues and I’m driving back, that’s the last thing I remember” he said “You don’t remember anything after that?” asked the hypnotist “No, I don’t” “Ok, let’s take you back. Go back to that day, you are driving and thinking about your family and then what happens?” he asked “I’m driving and suddenly I see big flashing lights in front of my eyes, I turn my car and then the lights went out” he said “Did you go towards the other side of the road to save yourself” he asked “Yes, I think I did” “Maybe you banged into another car when you turned your car” said the hypnotist “Oh, I know what happened now, I remember. I was in a jolly mood, driving happily and then suddenly I was distracted by something, a big truck or something and in a moments’ thought I turned my car around to the other side and banged into a car. I think I got hurt pretty badly” he said finally “Oh, what a relief, he remembers” said Victoria A few minutes later the hypnotist left saying that their problem is over but the patient might get up or might not depend upon His majesty. Both the girls left the hospital hopeful. And their prayers had been answered, Mr. Banks did not trouble Victoria throughout the night and the next day they learnt that he had woken up, his family had been informed and they are on their way to see him.
Samantha and Victoria breathed a sigh of relief. They figured that this was just a way of bringing them back together and they were pretty thrilled about it. The End
